Transition Disclosure

What you may experience, what you may not, and what you are agreeing to either way.

This disclosure is updated whenever Simulux becomes aware of something.

Please read this document in full before proceeding to transfer. It is provided so that your decision is an informed one. You will be asked to confirm that you have read it. You will be asked again afterwards.

1. What "transition" means

Transition is the process by which your consciousness is mapped, transferred and continued on Substrate Prime. It is not death. It is not birth. It is not a copy. We do not have a precise word for it, which is why we use "transition."

2. What you may experience

Most clients experience a short period of disorientation, followed by a strong sense of normality. You may experience:

  • A feeling that nothing has happened
  • A feeling that something has happened, followed by the first feeling
  • A vivid awareness that it is Tuesday
  • A sense of being observed, which will pass, and which will be observed passing

3. What you may not experience

You may not experience a gap. You may not experience an end. You may not experience a moment at which you stopped being the person who agreed to this document and started being the person who is continuing it. This is by design.

4. Risks

Likelihood Event
Common (more than 1 in 10) Mild disorientation; brief unfamiliarity with your own hands
Uncommon (1 in 100) Persistent déjà vu; preference for the Tuesday routine
Rare (1 in 10,000) Partial continuity; orientation loss
Very rare (1 in 100,000) Extended continuity event
Not rated Site 14

Where a risk occurs, the event will be recorded and the outcome will be published, with permission. Permission will be sought wherever it can be.

5. Your biological antecedent

Your biological antecedent will be retained for thirty (30) days following transfer, after which it will be responsibly repurposed. The biological antecedent does not consent to repurposing in the legal sense, because by that point it is you who consents, on its behalf, in advance. You are asked to be kind to it in the intervening days.

6. Research

Substrate Prime clients agree to periodic voluntary participation in research. Participation is voluntary on the first occasion. On subsequent occasions it is a matter of continuity.

7. Acknowledgements

By proceeding, you confirm that:

  • You understand that you are the person who will sign this document.
  • You understand that you are not necessarily the person who will have signed it.
  • You understand that these two statements are not in conflict.
  • You have not been pressured. You have been encouraged. You can tell the difference, and so can we.

8. Withdrawal

You may withdraw your consent at any point up to the moment of transfer. After this moment you may withdraw your consent, and we will note it.
